THE Alliance for Development and Democracy (ADD) has announced that it will rally behind the candidature of United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema in the forthcoming Presidential elections.
ADD president Charles Milupi said his party was mindful that the elections were critical such that multiple participation of opposition political parties would split the votes of those that desired positive change for the country.
“All organs, members and sympathisers of the ADD will work with the UNPD and are instructed to go flat out and campaign for the election of Mr Hichilema,” Mr Milupi said.
He announced this at the ADD secretariat during a media briefing attended by Mr Hichilema, People’s Party president Mike Mulongoti and Nason Msoni.
His decision was premised on the basis that Mr Hichilema and Mr Milupi had opposed the misrule that they had seen in the country.
In the last three years from the time Patriotic Front (PF) was elected into Government, the country had experienced undemocratic, autocratic and nepotistic manners.
Mr Mulongoti and Mr Musoni also announced that they would rally behind Mr Hichilema in the fourth coming presidential elections slated for January 20, 2015.
